Liverpool face losing Under-17 World Cup winner to Borussia Dortmund

Liverpool face losing 17-year-old wonder-kid Rhian Brewster to Borussia Dortmund according to the Sun.

Per the source, Brewster’s contract talks with Liverpool have stalled over the wage cap.

The reds have a £40,000 a-year salary cap on Academy prospects to ensure they stay grounded.

Liverpool are reported to be keen on getting Brewster to commit to a pro contract but there has been no breakthrough in discussions.

Brewster turns 18 next April and will be eligible for a pro contract.

The youngster has been at Liverpool for two-years since joining from Chelsea.

Jadon Sancho’s decision to leave Manchester City for Dortmund may encourage other England international youngsters to make the switch.

Brewster was part of the England side that won the Under-17 World Cup in Brazil but still has the option to represent Turkey at senior international level.

The young forward was born in London and represents England at Under-17 level but a little known fact about the young forward is that he is eligible to play for Turkey.

A source close to the player has revealed to Turkish-Football that the Reds wonder-kid has a Turkish mother and would be able to play for the Crescent-Stars at senior level.

Several players in the Turkish national team were actually born outside Turkey including AC Milan playmaker star Hakan Calhanoglu, Celta Vigo winger Emre Mor and Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun.
