Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard appeared to let slip that Emre Can will be on his way out of the Merseyside based club this summer.
The 24-year-old has entered the final four months of his contract with Liverpool and could end up leaving the club for free.
Despite the ongoing contract saga, Can has remained at the core of Jurgen Klopp’s plans. The Germany international has made 22 Premier League appearances for the Reds this season.
Can was however suspended for Liverpool’s emphatic 5-0 win over FC Porto in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
During BT Sport’s coverage of Liverpool’s match in Portugal, Steven Gerrard appeared to confirm that Can will be departing in the summer.
Following the comments, Liverpool fans took to social to express their feelings on the matter.
Granted you’ll win Serie A, but Emre Can would be mad to leave for Juventus and not stick around with Klopp building something special at Liverpool.

If Can is off I wouldn't give him captaincy again. #LFC #EmreCan

I really don't care, felt like crying when Torres left, was gutted when Suarez left, bit upset when Coutinho left. Emre Can ie nowhere near their calibre

Losing Emre Can is just not good craic

I'm upset Emre Can is leaving Liverpool and especially on a free but at the same time, I wouldn't offer him £150k a week like Juventus are. Just hope he gives it his all in final few months, was superb in the run in last season.
