Liverpool Favorites To Sign Brazilian Forward But Face Competition From Man United & Roma

Liverpool are favorites to sign Benfica star Anderson Talisca according to Turkish sports newspaper Fotomac.

Per the source, Besiktas have pulled out of the running, leaving the Reds in pole position but Manchester United and Roma could offer competition for his signature.

The report claims that Talisca wants a move to England and we have already reported Roma sporting director Monchi as clearly stating the Brazilian is not on the radar of the Giallorossi.

Monchi said: “We are not interested in him, these reports have no basis in reality.”

Besiktas are also out of the race after giving up their right to sign Talisca for a cut-price €21m fee.

Talisca spent the last two seasons on loan at the Istanbul giants and Besiktas had the option to sign him on a permanent deal.

Besiktas president Fikret Orman revealed that the 24-year-old did not want to stay on and slammed his agent for demanding €5 million in fees.

“Unfortunately it all got to Talisca’s head and his agent thought he could demand €5 million,” Orman stated.

“We did not activate his buyout clause due to his agents demands and for the fact Talisca did not want to stay on.

“I wish him all the best in the future.”

Portuguese outlet the Record also claimed the Reds have an ‘open track’ to negotiate directly with Benfica now that Besiktas are no longer in the race.

Talisca scored 20 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions for Besiktas this season.

The 1.91m tall attacking midfielder played a key role in the Black Eagles cruising through the Champions League group stage as undefeated leaders.
