Liverpool Forward Given Fresh Hope By Klopp Of Anfield Future Amid Reports Of Move To Super Lig

Liverpool outcast Daniel Sturridge has been linked with a summer exit after failing to impress last season.

Sturridge may just have been given fresh hope of a future at Anfield after scoring a brace in the Red 7-0 thrashing of Chester FC.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said Sturridge impressed him, although he did say the England striker can still do more.

“I saw a lot of good things from Daniel,” Klopp was quoted as saying by the Echo.

“He can still do more to impress me but I know about his quality.

“He’s had a very positive week and today he looked really good. We started playing football when he was involved. That’s how it is.”

Sturridge has faced growing interest from the Super Lig after being transfer listed by the Premier League giants.

Liverpool initially set a £15m valuation for the striker but have been unable to find any buyers willing to match their asking price according to Goal.

Turkish-Football recently reported that Sturridge is on the Besiktas shortlist.

The Istanbul based outfit do not, however, want to pay a transfer fee for the striker and would prefer a loan move, covering his wages.

We also reported reported on June 22 that Fenerbahce remain keen on Sturridge but have urged Liverpool to reduce their asking price.

Sturridge has just 12 months remaining on his contract but has yet to be offered an extension.

The striker scored just three goals in all competitions last season and spent the second half of the campaign out on loan.
