Liverpool Forward Who Scored Just 3 Goals This Season Made Besiktas Transfer Target

Besiktas have made signing a striker this summer a transfer priority.

The Black Eagles struggled for goals from their forwards after Cenk Tosun joined Everton in January.

Just to put things into perspective Tosun scored more goals in the first-half of the season than Alvaro Negredo did over the entire campaign.

Additionally, Vagner Love had a disappointing season.

The Black Eagles have drawn up a shortlist for strikers, a source close to the club revealed that Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge is among the targets.

Besiktas interest in Sturridge is not new, they were also linked in January but he moved to West Brom instead where he struggled for playing time.

The 29-year-old scored just three goals for Liverpool in the first half of the season.

A recent report claimed that his future at the Reds is in question after his relationship with head coach Jurgen Klopp broke down.

Sturridge did deny the claims but it is difficult to see him being part of Klopp’s plans next season.

Sturridge tweeted: “Spoke to the boss and Michael Edwards over the couple of days and wished them good luck for the final. Wished my team mates good luck after the semis and this week.”

The England striker failed to score a single goal at West Brom, making just five starts.
