Liverpool Green Light Transfer But Demand €15m For Striker Following Talks

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge continues to be linked with a move to Besiktas.

Turkish newspaper Star claim that the Reds are prepared to sell Sturridge for €15 million.

Per the source, Besiktas want to wrap the transfer up for €5 million.

The Black Eagles have reportedly held talks with his representative, Hasan Anil Eken and Liverpool over a summer move.

The Premier League outfit have given the green light for the England striker to leave this summer.

Besiktas have made signing a new striker a priority this summer.

The Black Eagles struggled for goals from their forwards after selling Cenk Tosun to Everton.

Turkish-Football sources meanwhile, claim otherwise regarding Sturridge.

A source close to the player revealed that the Black Eagles have not actually made an offer.

The Istanbul giants have not directly contacted Liverpool or his representatives.

Besiktas may indeed be interested and considering how poor Sturridge was last season it wouldn’t be a surprise if Liverpool did transfer list him but as of yet there has not been an official approach from the Turkish side.

Sturridge has just 12 months remaining on his contract but has not been offered an extension by the Reds.

The 28-year-old scored just three goals for the Reds in the first half of the season before being loaned to West Brom in January.

Sturridge failed to score a single goal for the Baggies, making just five starts.
