Liverpool Handed Boost In Bid To Keep Emre Can As Juventus Target Arsenal Midfielder Also Targeted By Turkish Giants

Liverpool have  been handed a boost in their hope to keep Emre Can on at the club beyond the end of the season.

The midfielder of Turkish origin will be a free agent this summer unless he signs a contract extension deal.

Can is out of contract at the end of the season and is considering all of his options.

The 24-year-old is allowed to sign a pre-agreement with a foreign club as he is into the final six-months of his current deal.

Reports in Italy continue to claim that Juventus is Can’s most likely destination this summer but the midfielder has yet to confirm what his future plans are.

The Reds are keen on keeping the midfielder on at Anfield but have not been able to convince his – yet – to extend his deal.

The reigning Serie A champions are however, now reported to be targeting Jack Wilshere according to the Daily Mail.

The England international will also be out of contract at the end of the season unless he strikes a new deal.

Wilshere did not travel with the Arsenal squad to face Ostersund in the Europa League Round of 32 tonight.

Juventus interest in Wilshere may end up serving Liverpool’s interests as far as keeping hold of Can is concerned but it will not be news welcomed by Fenerbahce.

A source close to Fenerbahce revealed to Turkish-Football that the Yellow Canaries also want Wilshere.

The Istanbul giants have been keeping close tabs on Wilshere and made an enquiry over the winter transfer break.

Fenerbahce want Wilshere on a free transfer at the end of the season and are prepared to offer a lucrative long-term contract for the 26-year-old.
