Liverpool join race to sign £12m Swiss international also being targeted by Galatasaray

Liverpool are the latest in a long list of clubs to be linked with a move for Stoke City winger Xherdan Shaqiri.

According to the Guardian, Liverpool are interested in signing the Switzerland international this summer. Per the source, both Southampton and Tottenham are also in the race to sign the 26-year-old.

Shaqiri has a £12 million release clause in his contract which was activated after Stoke City were relegated from the Premier Leauge.

Meanwhile, Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray have also been closely linked with a move for the former Bayern Munich man. Gala boss Fatih Terim is understood to be a huge fan of Shaqiri and has been trying to convince the 26-year-old to make a move to Turkey.
