Liverpool are keen to keep hold of their Serbian international Lazar Markovic despite interest from Fenerbahce according to the Sun newspaper.

The daily tabloid paper states that the arrival of Jurgen Klopp has enhanced Markovic’s chances of forcing his way into the reckoning at Liverpool.

According to the Turkish newspaper AMK, Klopp is happy with the 21-year-old’s performances and has plans for him next term.

Markovic is currently on a season long-loan at the Turkish Super Lig club Fenerbahce. The 21-year-old has established himself as a first team regular under the stewardship of Fenerbahce manager Vitor Pereira and has also passed his goal and assist tally of last season scoring twice and setting up three goals despite a lengthy injury.

The Serbian international has featured in Fenerbahce’s last seven league games and started in the last five – all of which have ended in victories for the leaders.
