Liverpool keeper nears summer exit after Turkish giants open talks, Reds unlikely to receive £12m asking price

Turkish Super Lig giant Besiktas have established contact with Liverpool over a deal for the Belgium international goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

We recently reported that Besiktas are interested in signing Mignolet this summer. However, the Black Eagles are not prepared to meet Liverpool’s £12 million asking price for the experienced keeper.

The Istanbul based club are keen to sign Mignolet on a season-long loan deal.

According to SkySports, Besiktas officials are in talks with Liverpool. Per the source, Liverpool are prepared to sell the 30-year-old following the signing of Alisson from Roma for £67 million.

Mignolet made 202 appearances for Liverpool since his move to the Merseyside based club from Sunderland back in 2013.

The Belgium international lost his place in Jurgen Klopp’s starting eleven this season to Loris Karius.

Besiktas are on the hunt for a new goalkeeper after selling Fabri to Fulham earlier this month.

Mignolet who made 19 Premier League appearances for Liverpool last season has three-years remaining on his contract with the Reds.
