Liverpool legend sends warning to contract rebel Emre Can
Liverpool legend John Aldridge has sent out a warning to the Germany international midfielder Emre Can.
Can’s contract with Liverpool expires in under 18-months and is yet to begin negotiations over a new deal.
The 23-year-old is understood to be holding out for a pay rise however, Aldridge believes Can needs to improve his performance if he is to be offered a new contract.
Former Liverpool striker Aldridge has told Can to find some consistency if he wants to remain at the Merseyside club.

“Emre Can had an indifferent game but it was a magnificent strike to secure us the points,” Aldridge told the Liverpool Echo.
“In the first half against Burnley he had some bad moments but in the second half he rose to the occasion.
“That goal should really help his confidence going forward. The ability is there but he needs to show it more consistently.
“If he wants to stay at Liverpool he needs to work his socks off and keep making big contributions.”
Can scored his sides winning goal during Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Burnley FC in the Premier League last weekend. Jurgen Klopp’s side will be looking to make it three wins in three when they take on Manchester City this weekend.
Liverpool are currently five points ahead of fifth placed Arsenal however, the Gunners have two games in hand.
Emre Can has scored four goals and provided three assists for the Reds this season.
