Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has revelled that Martin Skrtel will be missed and wished his former teammate all the best on his new adventure in Turkey.
Gerrard sent a heartfelt message to the Slovakian international on Instagram after hearing about his former teammate leaving Anfield.
The former Liverpool captain wrote: “8 an a half years of great service solid man on and off the pitch . You will be missed mate . Good luck for your future #37 #ynwa”
Skrtel spent years at the Reds and only Jamie Carragher, Gerrard, Sami Hyypia, Pepe Reina and Robbie Fowler made more Premier League appearances for the club than him.
Gerrard ended his association with the Reds last summer after joining MLS giants LA Galaxy.
Skrtel parted ways with Liverpool last week joining Turkish giants Fenerbahce on a three-year deal.
The 31-year-old defender has joined Fenerbahce for a reported £5.5 million transfer fee.
The experienced defender found the back of the net 16 times in 242 top-flight appearances for the Reds during an eight-season spell at Liverpool.
