Liverpool line up move for Man United target as replacement for Emre Can

Liverpool are preparing for life without their combative midfielder Emre Can.

The Germany international has under seven months remaining on his contract with the Merseyside based club. Can could end up leaving the club for free next summer unless a new deal is agreed or if Liverpool decide to offload him in January.

According to the Italian outlet Tuttosport, Liverpool have set their signs on Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The 22-year-old has been in impressive form for Lazio on the Serie A this season. Milinkovic-Savic is known for his energy in midfield and box-to-box play.

Liverpool take on Stoke City in the Premier League on Wednesday evening as they look to return to winning ways.

Can missed the weekend clash due to a muscle injury but did return to training on Monday and could feature tomorrow.
