Besiktas suffered a shock 4-1 away defeat to Kasimpasa in the Istanbul derby on Saturday.
Liverpool loanee Loris Karius started in goal for the Black Eagles and despite conceding four times on the night he was not entirely to blame.
In fact, the scoreline could have been a lot worse had he not made a few important saves. It was the defence and overall team organization which really let the Istanbul giants down.
This was the second time in all competitions that Karius has conceded four goals in a single game.
Kasimpasa striker Mbaye Diagne scored a brace taking his season tally up to 20 in 18 league games.
Sadiku and Pavelka also scored for Kasimpasa in what was Besiktas’ heaviest league defeat of the season.
The result saw Kasimpasa close the gap with league leaders Basaksehir to six points.
Besiktas will have to wait until January 20 to return to action as the Super Lig will enter a month-long winter break.
