Liverpool loanee Loris Karius has asked his girlfriend to join him in Turkey according to the Sabah newspaper.
The Turkish paper quotes Karius as saying he feels safe in Turkey despite the coronavirus outbreak and that he wants to bring his partner over to Istanbul.
Karius is into his second season on loan at Besiktas from Liverpool.
“I feel safe in Turkey, I want to bring Sophia [His girlfriend] here, I think she would be safer here than in Germany,” he is quoted as saying.
The German keeper started for Besiktas in the Istanbul derby against Galatasaray on Sunday.
Karius kept a clean sheet in the goalless draw against the Lions.
The Super Lig is the only major European league still running due to the coronavirus disruptions.
As a result, Karius was the only Liverpool player in action over the weekend.
Turkey has had 98 cases of coronavirus with one death according to the Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca.

The Turkish Football Federation plans to go ahead with the weekend fixture of games as scheduled.
Games will be played behind closed doors without fans present to avoid large public gatherings.
