Liverpool Make Increased €22m Offer For World Cup Finalist But Now Face Competition From Atletico Madrid & Sevilla

Sevilla and Atletico Madrid have joined an ever-growing list of clubs trying to sign Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida.

The Fanatik newspaper reported today that Liverpool have increased their bid yet again, this time to €22m.

Per the source, the Reds have made the highest offer for Vida but the two La Liga sides mentioned above have now entered the race alongside Everton and Leicester City who we have already reported.

The report claims that Besiktas value Vida as being worth €35m.

Turkish-Football have quoted Besiktas press officer Metin Albayrak as admitting to offers being made.

Albayrak said: “We have received offers for Vida and we are considering them but that does not mean he will definitely leave.

“Every player has a price, we will make a final decision in accordance with our budget and interests.”

The latest developments follow the bookmakers adding Chelsea and Manchester United to the list of clubs Vida is most likely to join.

BetStars spokesman Ian Marmion was quoted by the Express as saying: “Croatia’s defensive dynamo Domagoj Vida has attracted Premier League interest following his standout performances at the World Cup in Russia.

“Liverpool are the current 3/1 favourites to sign the 29-year-old as the man to provide competition for his Croatian compatriot Dejan Lovren in central defence next season.

“Chelsea are second in the running at 5/1 to become the Besiktas defender’s chosen destination this summer, while local rivals Manchester United and Manchester City are both long-shots at 9/1 and 12/1 respectively to complete a move for the World Cup finalist during the transfer window.”
