Liverpool take on Real Madrid in the Champions League final on 25 May in Kiev, Ukraine.
The Reds were expected to be without Emre Can after he was left out of the Germany World Cup squad but it appears the midfielder could make a surprise return.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp revealed he thought it was impossible that Can would participate in team training 10 days ago but that is exactly what he did today.
The midfielder of Turkish origin is recovering faster than expected.
Can has not played for the Reds since mid-March after being forced off with a back problem during the 5-0 victory over Watford.
The 24-year-old did however, travel with the Liverpool squad to Marbella for the pre-final preparation camp and was involved in training today at Anfield.
Emre Can is making steady progress in his recovery from a back injury and may be available for Saturday’s Champions League final.

“It depends,” the boss replied, when asked whether Can will be in his matchday squad at the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium.
“With Emre or players in the situation of Emre it depends on the reaction on things [but] let me say it like this: 10 days ago, I didn’t think it was possible that he could do what he did today, and that he could do what he did in Marbella already.
“That looked good and my impression of him is really positive, but we have to wait again until tomorrow. But the door, of course, is open. It’s really nice to have him back in the group and he is really desperate to be part of [the final] and we will see.”
Can may recover in time for the final but it will be his last game unless he signs a new contract deal.
The star midfielder will be a free agent unless he reaches an agreement over an extension.
Can has been closely linked with a move to Juventus following the final.
