Liverpool & Manchester City Eye Up Turkish International Full-Back

Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly vying for the signature of 24-year-old Fenerbahce left-back Ferdi Kadioglu according to the Turkiye Gazetesi newspaper.

Kadioglu, who has impressed in Turkey since joining Fenerbahce in 2018, has emerged as a target for both clubs seeking to strengthen their left-back options.

With Andrew Robertson turning 30 soon and Kostas Tsimikas as the only backup, Liverpool are exploring potential long-term replacements. Kadioglu’s versatility and attacking prowess make him a potential fit.

Pep Guardiola’s side hasn’t found a reliable alternative to Nathan Ake and Josko Gvardiol at left-back. Kadioglu’s experience and defensive solidity could address this need.

Liverpool’s entry adds another dimension to the chase, potentially driving up the asking price and influencing Kadioglu’s decision.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League for the past two seasons after excelling at Fenerbahce, he is under contract until 2026.

Kadioglu has two goals and three assists in 34 appearances in all competitions for Fenerbahce this season. Kadioglu was born in the Netherlands and has Canadian as well as Turkish heritage.

The full-back represents Turkiye at international level and has 15 caps at international level. He is expected to be part of the Euro 2024 setup this summer.

Fenerbahce are currently second in the Super Lig involved in a tight title race with leaders Galatasaray and also competing in the Turkish Cup and European Conference League.
