Liverpool’s new transfer Emre Can has been included in Spanish newspaper Sport’s team of the week.
The combative midfielder earned his spot in the team following good displays against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League and Chelsea in the Premier League.
Emre Can was a surprise inclusion in the starting XI and he repaid his managers faith by scoring in the 9th minute to give Liverpool the lead.
Sport’s team of the week is as follows:
Heaton, Nelom, Prodl, Albiol, Verhaegh, Olkowski, Pjanic, Emre Can, Lichtsteiner, Long, Muller
The 20-year-old is expected to keep his place in the starting XI when Liverpool face Crystal Palace in the league.
Can moved to Liverpool on a £9.75m deal from Bayer Leverkusen this summer but missed much of the early part of the season with injury.
The young midfielder was born in German to Turkish parents and is eligible to represent Germany and Turkey at international level.
