Galatasaray are preparing a loan move for Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho a source close to the Istanbul giants revealed to Turkish-Football.
Per the source, the Lions have been interested in Sakho since the summer transfer window and that they want the Senegal international on a temporary move.
Galatasaray would be able to offer Sakho first team football and the chance to be involved in a title challenge as well as the potential of Champions League football next season.
The Lions could however, face competition from AC Milan and Inter Milan according to the Sun [via L’Equipe].
The Sun report that Southampton remain the favourites to sign Sakho as he wants to stay in the Premier League.
The Saints are in the hunt for defensive reinforcements after team captain Jose Fonte handed in his transfer request in a bid to force a move to Manchester United.
Sakho fell out of favour with head coach Jurgen Klopp over the summer following a weird Snapchat rant.
The powerful defender has not been given a single minute of playing time this season and has been forced to train with the reserves.
Klopp will not loan him, sale or nothing.
