Liverpool could be lining up a January move for Bundesliga star Kerem Demirbay.

Back in October Turkish Football broke the news that Liverpool have maintained an interest in the Germany international since last year.

Demirbay went onto confirm that he is aware of interest from the Reds during an interview with Sky Sports Germany.

“Of course, I have noticed that,” Demirbay told Sky Sports Germany, when asked about potential interest from Liverpool.

A source close to Demirbay has provided an update to Turkish-Football regarding the 25-year-old’s future.

Per the source, Liverpool scouts have been impressed with Demirbay’s performances this season and are considering a January move for the midfielder.

Liverpool legend Jamir Carragher has urged his former side to sign a creative midfielder in January.

Demirbay has regained his place in Hoffenheim’s starting eleven this season after recovering from a lengthy injury.

Demirbay has provided three assist in ten appearances for the Bundesliga club this season. The 25-year-old midfielder of Turkish descent has four years remaining on his contract with Hoffenheim.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was the manager of Dortmund when Demirbay left to join HSV in 2013. The 25-year-old spent three-years at Hamburg prior to his move to Hoffenheim in 2016.

Liverpool are back in action next weekend when they take on Watford in the Premier League.
