Liverpool Probable XI Set To Start Against Southampton – Klopp Faces Tough Decision Over Rotating Ahead Of Champions League Clash

Liverpool take on Southampton at the St Mary’s Stadium hoping to change around their fortunes against the Saints.

The Reds failed to find the back of the net in four attempts against Southampton last season.

Jurgen Klopp faces a tough choice over whether to start with Dejan Lovren or Joel Matip in defence.

Matip may end up starting as Lovren is bound to receive a frosty reception from the Southampton side which may not bode well for his nerves.

Virgil van Dijk is almost certain to start against his former side in defence alongside Lovren or Matip.

Klopp may end up making a few rotations to his side with the Champions League Last 16 clash against Porto set to be played mid-week.

The German manager will therefore probably start Emre Can as he is suspended for the Porto clash.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and captain Jordan Henderson are likely to feature alongside alongside the midfielder of Turkish origin.

Under normal circumstances the likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Firmino would definitely be starting. We still expect to see them but they may just end up being rested at some stage as Klopp plans ahead to the Porto game.
