Liverpool Receive Boost After Monchi Denies Making Offer For Firmino’s Brazil International Target

Liverpool have been closely linked with Benfica attacking midfielder Anderson Talisca in the Portuguese and Turkish press.

Fanatik reported earlier this week that the Reds want to sign the 1.91m tall star who is the teammate of fellow Liverpool ace Firmino for Brazil.

Roma meanwhile have been rumored to have struck a deal with the Portuguese giants over Talisca.

It turns out the Italian giants are interested in the powerful midfielder but that an offer has not been made.

Roma sporting director Monchi explained the Talisca situation to Radyospor.

“It’s obvious that I consider Talisca a strong player,” Monchi said.

“He’s an interesting and promising player, every sporting director in the world knows him and thinks he’s a good player.

“As things stand though we haven’t made a move for him.”

Talisca is currently on loan at Besiktas where he has scored 16 times and provided four assists in all competitions.

The Brazil international played a key role in the Black Eagles winning the league championship last season and the Istanbul giants could end up defending the title.

Besiktas want to keep Talisca on a permanent deal and have a buyout clause option to the tune of €21 million which remains active until the end of the season.
