Liverpool receive major boost in race to keep Emre Can – Juventus chiefs admit they may miss out on landing German international

Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta has admitted that his side may miss out on signing Liverpool star midfielder Emre Can.

The Germany international’s future at the Merseyside based club is cast in doubt after failing to put pen to paper on a new deal.

Can has under five months left on his contract with Liverpool and could end up leaving for free at the end of the season.

According to the Mirror, Juventus’ Beppe Marotta fears the Serie A giants could miss out on Liverpool contract rebel.

The Italian club have been linked with a move for Can since the summer transfer window.

“For Emre Can, our interest is clear,” Moratta stated.

“We want to try to bring him to us, but it is not certain we will succeed because at the moment he has a contract offer from Liverpool and could renew.

“Also, there are other teams interested in him.”

Emre Can played the full 90 minutes during Liverpool’s shock 1-0 defeat the hands of Swansea City on Monday night.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will be looking to return to winning ways when they take on West Brom in the FA Cup fourth round this weekend.
