Liverpool reveal squad to face Stoke City, Emre Can makes provisional side but late decision will be made on defender

Emre Can makes Liverpool provisional squad but late decision will be made on defender ahead of Stoke City clash

Liverpool take on Stoke City at the Britannica stadium on Wednesday evening in the Premier League.

The Reds held reigning Premier League champions Chelsea to a 1-1 draw despite Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Emre Can not starting – Firmino and Can did not feature at all.

All three players are back in the provisional squad ahead of the Stoke clash.

“It makes sense at this part of the season to use the strength of the squad. It’s not completely unlikely they (Firmino and Mane) will start (against Stoke),” Jurgen Klopp said in his pre-match press conference.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Daniel Sturridge replaced Mane and Firmino on the weekend but could be sacrificed against Stoke.

Can missed the weekend clash due to a muscular injury but has returned to the squad.

It remains to be seen whether Klopp will give Can the nod in midfield.

Klopp faces a late decision over defender Dejan Lovren who has not been included in the provisional squad but could still recover in time.
