Liverpool Set To Trigger £35m Release Clause For Brazilian Full-back, Galatasaray Stand To Make £3.5m From Transfer

Liverpool are prepared to trigger the £35million release clause in Porto defender Alex Telles’ contract this summer, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

Per the source, the Reds are ready to swoop in for the Brazilian who has also been linked with Chelsea.

The Portuguese giants have already lost two full-backs this summer with Ricardo Pereira joining Leicester City and Diogo Dalot moving to Manchester United.

Porto would probably want to keep Telles on considering the players they have already sold but should the Reds activate his release clause they would not have a say in the matter.

The Portuguese outfit may not be keen on losing the 25-year-old but Galatasaray will be monitoring the situation closely.

Turkish-Football understands that the Lions stand to make 10 percent of the transfer fee if the transfer were to go ahead.

The Istanbul based outfit would make £3.5 million if Liverpool were to activate his clause.

Telles joined Porto on a £5.85m (Transfermarkt) move from Galatasaray in 2016 and included a 10 percent future sale clause as part of the deal.

The left-back scored four goals and provided an impressive 20 assists in 45 appearances for Porto in all competitions.

Brazil did not call Telles up for the 23-man World Cup squad this summer. In fact he has never made an appearance for the national team.

The former Galatasaray man has another three-years remaining on his contract.
