Emre Can has stated that he was very pleased with Liverpool’s performance during their 2-0 win over their bitter rivals Manchester United.
Can played the full 90 minutes and was one of his sides highest rated players.
“It was an incredible night,” Can told the Liverpool Echo.
“We created a lot of chances, we scored two goals and kept a clean sheet so we’re happy.
“The team played very well. The first half was very good
“The second half was more difficult. At times we didn’t press as well as we should have done.”
Can managed to keep his place in the side following the managerial change and has been one of Klopp’s most trusted players featuring regularly for the Reds.
The 22-year-old put on an impressive performance making four successful tackles and one interception.
Can helped his side keep possession with a passing accuracy of 85% after making 68 passes. The former Bayern Munich man also contributed on the attacking front with two successful dribbles and one key pass.
Liverpool take on Manchester United in the second leg of their Europa League tie next Thursday.
