Liverpool Star Is Leaving Anfield Because Of Tactical Disagreement With Jurgen Klopp Not Over Money

Emre Can Liverpool Juventus

Liverpool star Emre Can looks almost certain to leave on a free transfer this summer with Fabinho and Naby Keita being brought in to strengthen the midfield.

The midfielder of Turkish origin has yet to extend his contract and is likely to join Juventus on a €5m per-year deal.

Can’s exit reportedly has nothing to do with wage demands as reported, instead it came down to a tactical disagreement with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp according to the Mirror.

The report claims the following: “Can has spent much of the current campaign either playing as a No.8 or deputising for skipper Henderson as the midfield anchorman. The former Bayern Munich youngster prefers to play in the latter position.”

Klopp reportedly feels that Can is better suited to playing as a No 8 and would have preferred to have the midfielder in his squad next season.

Can did fill in for Henderson for a large section of the season, replacing Henderson while he was injured.

Per the source, Fabinho was brought in as a replacement for Can but would have still been signed had he extended his deal.

Can made a total of 167 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions since joining from Bayer Leverkusen on a €12 million move in 2014.
