Liverpool star makes bold claim ahead of Tottenham clash following emphatic 7-0 victory
Liverpool star midfielder Emre Can has backed the Reds to go on a winning run.
The 23-year-old has claimed that the Merseyside based club’s win in the UEFA Champions League will inspire the team to go on a run of victories.
Liverpool recorded a 7-0 victory over Slovenian side Maribor last night to secure their first win in the UCL this season. Jurgen Klopp’s side set a record for the biggest away win for an English club in the Champions League.
The Reds came into Tuesday night’s game having recorded just one win in their last eight games and were held to a 0-0 draw by rivals Man United last weekend.

“It was great. We didn’t concede a goal, that’s important as well, and then we scored goals, created good chances, and I think it was a deserved win,” Can told Liverpool’s official website.
“You have to score and that was the reason we didn’t win the last games.
“Today we did it very well and I hope that was the game where it starts now again, the winning ways.
It was a great performance and [we have] Sunday now, against Tottenham – a great game and hopefully we’ll play similar to today.”
Liverpool face a tough trip down to London this weekend when they take on Tottenham at Wembley in the Premier League.
Emre Can played the full 90 minutes on Tuesday and is available for selection this weekend.
