Liverpool star puts Chelsea success down to luck
Liverpool star Emre Can has put Premier League leaders Chelsea’s success this season down to luck.
Can believes part of Chelsea’s success is down to their star players remaining fit.
The 22-year-old went onto state that in contrast Liverpool have been unlucky so far this term.
Liverpool are currently without their captain Jordan Henderson who has been sidelined in recent weeks. Attacking midfielder Adam Lallana has also been out since picking up an injury on international duty.
To make matters worse, Sadio Mane has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
“When you look at the bench it was very young,. We miss a lot of our players, there are a lot of injuries,” Can told the Guardian:
“You should look at Chelsea. They are lucky with that, for example. We don’t have luck with this – but it is no excuse. We have to go again. We have to fight for our target.”
The Reds find themselves in third place in the Premier League. However, their spot in the top-four is under threat following their shock 2-1 defeat to West Ham.
Chelsea meanwhile sit comfortably at the top of the table, four points clear of second placed Tottenham.
Liverpool take on Watford in the Premier League next week as they look to return to winning ways.
