Emre Can has rejoined first-team training with Liverpool after just 18-days of sustaining an ankle injury.
The 22-year-old was diagnosed with ruptures ankle ligaments and was expected to miss the remainder of the Red’s season.
However, the Can has made a miraculous recovery and is in contention to be included in the squad to face Villarreal in the Europa League on Thursday. The 22-year-old will be carefully monitored by the clubs medical staff over the next few days.
Can has three assists and two goals in 46 appearances for Liverpool this season. The Germany international has thrived under Jurgen Klopp and is a important member of Liverpool’s starting line-up when fit.
Liverpool take on the Spanish outfit Villarreal in the Europa League semi finals second leg on Thursday. The Red’s will look to overturn a 1-0 defeat from last week’s first leg encounter with Villarreal.
