Liverpool star midfielder Emre Can is set to complete his move to Juventus this week.
According to the Italian outlet Calciomercato, the 24-year-old is expected to arrive in Turin this week to undergo a medical and put pen-to-paper on a five-year deal.
Can is set to leave Liverpool for free after failing to sign a new deal, the Germany international’s current contract expires at the end of this month.
Jurgen Klopp included Emre Can in his 18-man UEFA Champions League final squad. The 24-year-old did make an appearance off the bench towards the end of the game but was unable to make a significant impact.
Liverpool sign Fabinho as a replacement:
However, Liverpool have already signed a replacement for the outbound Emre Can. The Merseyside based club have a £39 million deal for Monaco midfielder Fabinho.
Much like Emre Can, Fabinho is a versatile midfielder who can also operate in defence. The 24-year-old has scored 29 goals in 225 appearances for Monaco over five seasons.
“He has ability and mentality to play at the highest level in a number of positions. He can play ‘six’, ‘eight’ and ‘two’. This is cool,” Jurgen Klopp was quoted as saying by the BBC.
