Liverpool target £35m Napoli star as summer replacement for outbound Emre Can

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp appears to be on the lookout for Emre Can’s replacement.

According to the Italian outlet CalcioMercato, Liverpool are set to reignite their interest in Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski.

Per the source, the Reds see the Poland international as a replacement for the outbound Emre Can.

Zielinski has recorded two assists and seven goals in 34 appearances for Napoli this season.

CalcioMercato go onto state that 23-year-old will cost Liverpool £35 million.

Liverpool have already signed Naby Keita Liverpool from RB Leipzig for £56m. The Guinea international will join the Reds this summer.

Emre Can has entered the final four months of his contract and is currently free to discuss terms with foreign clubs.

Can could even end up leaving the Reds for free in the summer unless a new deal can be struck.

However, despite the ongoing contract saga, Can has remained as a key player in Klopp’s starting eleven. The combative midfielder started for the Merseyside based club against West Ham United today.
