Galatasaray winger Baris Alper Yilmaz is turning heads after a string of impressive performances for Turkey at Euro 2024. Former Turkish international Selcuk Inan believes Yilmaz could “easily” play for the biggest clubs in the world, including Liverpool according to former Turkish international and Galatasaray star Selcuk Inan.
The 24-year-old has been a key figure for Turkey, starting all three group stage matches. His versatility, playing on both flanks and even filling in at full-back, has drawn comparisons to Gareth Bale by his former coach.

Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, and Brighton & Hove Albion are all said to be interested in Yilmaz. Galatasaray has reportedly slapped a £21 million (€25 million) price tag on the winger, with Brighton’s reported £17 million (€20 million) offer falling short.

Beyond the Premier League, Lazio, Eintracht Frankfurt, and RB Leipzig are also keeping tabs on Yilmaz. Manchester United’s interest reportedly dates back to April, with his versatility a major draw.

Inan, now manager of Gaziantep, believes Yilmaz has the potential to play for the very best: “I think Baris Alper Yılmaz can play very comfortably for many teams in the Premier League at the moment. He’s a very special player,” he was quoted as saying in the Liverpool Echo.
“We worked a lot together. If Barıs Alper improves himself with his final ball, he can easily play for the best clubs in the world such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Arsenal.
“He’s a player with a lot of potential. Hopefully, he will get that chance and represent them.”
