Liverpool targeting Champions League football says Germany international
Emre Can played a staring role during Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Everton in the Merseyside derby on Saturday.
The Germany international was singled out for some rough treatment by Everton but managed to see out the full 90 minutes.
The victory lifts Liverpool up into third place with 59 points after 30 games. Jurgen Klopp’s side are six points above fifth placed Manchester United. However the Red Devils do have two games in hand.

Can has been in impressive form of late and believes Liverpool are also back to their best. The 23-year-old also stated that the Reds are targeting Champions League football next season.
“It has not been secured (with this result) but it is our target to play in the Champions League,” Emre Can was quoted as saying by Eurosport.
“In December, January and February was not our best football but now we are back, we did it in the last couple of games.
“It was very important to win that game. There are still eight games to go and we have to keep it up.”
Liverpool take on a struggling Bournemouth in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.
Can has provided three assists and scored four goals in 32 apperances for Liverpool this season. The 23-year-old was called up to the Germany national team last week but was an unused substitute against Azerbaijan.
