Liverpool team news: Contract rebel may leave Reds this summer

Emre Can could be on his way out of Liverpool at the end of the season according to club legend Jamie Carragher.

Carragher stated that there is ‘good chance’ Can will no longer be a Liverpool player next season.

“Now, he’s got a contract situation at the moment, Emre Can. Is he going to sign it? Is he not? I think he may have 12 months at the end of the season,” Carragher stated like on SkySports.

“There is a good chance he may not be here next season. I don’t see, when the first XI is picked, where else he can play except that role.

“That role is for the captain Jordan Henderson, who I can see how much he is missed in the last three or four games he’s been out.”

The 23-year-old’s contract with Liverpool expires in under 18 months and he is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal. Can is understood to be holding out for a £100,000 per week deal.
