Liverpool Team News: Jurgen Klopp Receives Double Boost, Emre Can Available Despite Rumours Of Exit

Liverpool take on Newcastle United coached by their former manager Rafa Benitez in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

The Reds are unbeaten in the league at Anfield this season, going 14 games without defeat which is their longest run since 2008-09.

The visitors meanwhile are hovering dangerously close to the relegation zone, just two points from safety.

The Magpies are in poor form but all three of Benitez’s games against his former side have ended in draws this season.

Jurgen Klopp will be without Nathaniel Clyne who has started his comeback from injury by playing for the Under-23s.

Georginio Wijnaldum and Danny Ings were both ruled out for the Reds’ 4-1 victory over West Ham but both are recovering from illness and are expected to return in time for the Newcastle clash.

Despite being linked with an end of season move several times this week Emre Can is expected to keep his place in the side.

The midfielder of Turkish origin is match fit and did put on a man of the match display against the Hammers scoring his sides 100th goal this season and providing an assist.

Can has yet to agree to a contract extension with Liverpool despite having just a few months remaining on his current deal.

Team captain Jordan Henderson is also available but Can is likely to keep his place in the side.

Klopp has no worries in attack, star trio Mohamed Salah, Firmino and Sadio Mane are all available.
