Liverpool team news: Jurgen Klopp receives major boost ahead of Stoke clash

Liverpool have received a major boost ahead of their Premier League clash against Stoke City.

The clash takes place at the Britannia stadium on Wednesday while kick-off is scheduled for 20:00 (GMT).

Germany international Emre Can has returned to first team training after missing out on the weekend clash with Chelsea. The 23-year-old has been struggling with a calf injury in recent weeks.

Jurgen Klopp decided not to risk Can for Liverpool’s last two games.

According to the Liverpool Echo, there are signs that Can will be fit for the midweek action as he was involved in training on Monday night.

Can’s long-term future at Liverpool is still cast in doubt. The combative midfielder has failed to pen a new deal and could end up leaving the club for free next summer.

Liverpool already find themselves 14 points behind leaders Man City after 13 games. The Reds are also currently two points behind a top-four place.
