Liverpool team news:

Manager Jurgen Klopp has opted to use the same starting eleven for both of Liverpool’s games this season. However, the German tactician may opt to make changes following the return of Daniel Sturridge.

The England international returned to full training this week and is expected to be included in the match-day squad.

“Daniel I would say so. He was involved in a full session. He looked really good.” Klopp was quoted as saying by the Express.

“Phil is not available. Not in training so far.”

Star midfielder Emre Can is set to keep his place in the squad. Despite having under 12-months remaining on his contract, the 23-year-old hasn’t lost his place in the starting eleven.

Klopp will however be unable to call upon Philippe Coutinho. The Brazil international handed in a transfer request last week and has been closely linked with a move to Barcelona.

Nathaniel Clyne is also an injury doubt going into this weekend’s encounter with Stoke City.
