“He has had some little problems in training this week, he got a real knock on his calf but it should be no problem,” Klopp was quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
“Yesterday he could run and today he could train, so that’s important.”
Should Wijnaldum fail to make a full recovery in time for the Leicester clash it could see Emre Can return to the starting line-up.
The Germany international of Turkish origin was dropped for Wijnaldum going into the Tottenham clash a fortnight ago.
Can has not been in the best of form recently but he has been a first team regular for Klopp, making a total of 27 appearances in all competitions this season.
Wijnaldum put on an impressive display during the 2-0 victory over Spurs.
Klopp faces a tough decision over letting Can return to the starting line-up or keeping him on the bench.
In other Liverpool team news, Dejan Lovren and Daniel Sturridge are also set to return to the squad after missing the trip to La Manga in Spain. The Reds spent a week in Spain training in the warmer climate of La Manga.
Liverpool go into the Leicester game in 5th place just a point behind 4th placed Arsenal and Tottenham who are separated by goal difference.
