Liverpool team news: Reds offer new contracts for two star names, stand-off with in-demand ace continues

Liverpool are set to hold contract talks with two of their star names over the coming weeks.

According to the Mirror, the Reds are preparing new deals for both Roberto Firmino and Ben Woodburn. The duo entered the last 18-months of there contracts and the Reds want to extend their deals before the end of the season.

However, the Mirror goes onto state that Liverpool are yet to make any headway in talks with Emre Can. The Germany international has under nine months left on his current deal with the Reds and will be free to hold talks with interested parties in January.

Per the source, Can’s representatives want him to become one of the club’s highest earners and also want a release clause written into his contract.

However, Liverpool are unwilling to include a release clause in any of their players contracts.

Can has been included in Joachim Low’s Germany national team squad.
