Liverpool team news: Van Dijk on wrong end of Emre Can tackle while Jurgen Klopp receives major injury boost

Liverpool have continued their training camp back at Anfield ahead of the upcoming UEFA Champions League final.

Jurgen Klopp’s side take on Real Madrid in Kiev on Saturday as they look to lift their sixth European trophy.

Star midfielder Emre Can participated in full first-team training yesterday and is available for selection this weekend. Klopp is however unlikely to start the combative midfielder who has been sidelined for the past month with a back injury.

Can did, however, come close to injury star defender Van Dijk. According to the Mirror’s Dave Maddock, Can scythed Van Dijk during a recent session at Anfield leaving the Netherlands international on the ground.

Fortunately, Van Dijk avoided injury and was able to continue the rest of the session.

Meanwhile, James Milner also returned to full first-team training this week and is available for the weekend encounter.

England international duo Joe Gomez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joel Matip have already been ruled out of contention due to injuries.
