Liverpool transfer news: AC Milan join race to sign in-demand German playmaker

Hoffenheim playmaker Kerem Demirbay has attracted the attention of clubs across Europe following his recent form.

The 24-year-old played a starring role against Liverpool last week, despite his sides 4-2 defeat at the hands of the Reds.

According to the Italian outlet Calciomercato, Serie A giants AC Milan have set their sights on the German playmaker.

Per the source, Milan have been tracking Demirbay’s progress in recent months. The report goes onto state Milan won’t be making a move for Demirbay tonight, but may line up a bid in January or next summer.

Meanwhile, German publication Bild have stated that Liverpool are in contact with Demirbay’s representatives. However, Liverpool are also unlikely to make a move for the Germany international before the transfer window slams shut at 11pm.

Demirbay provided 10 assists and scored six goals in 29 appearances for Hoffenheim last term. The 24-year-old has previously played for Hamburg, Kaiserslautern and Fortuna Dusseldorf.
