Juventus have been scouting Liverpool star midfielder Emre Can a source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football.com.

The Italian giants have been keeping tabs on the 23-year-old Germany international of Turkish origin all season.

Per the source, Can is happy at Liverpool and has settled in well to life in England. However, he currently has 18-months remaining on his current contract and has yet to sign an extension with Liverpool.

The Germany international of Turkish origin has been stalling over a new contract according to the Liverpool Echo‘s James Pearce and the Reds will sell him at the end of the season if he does not sign an extension.

“I wouldn’t say Emre Can is definitely off but his future is certainly up in the air,” Pearce was quoted as saying.

“He has been stalling over a new contract and clearly believes he’s worth more than Liverpool are offering.

“Hopefully it will be sorted before the end of the season. If he doesn’t sign then it’s likely he will be sold because I can’t see Liverpool letting him enter the final year of his current contract.”

Can became a fan favourite soon after joining Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014 but he has struggled for form this season.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has recently revealed that Can has had problems with his calf which have had an negative effect on his performances.

Klopp was quoted in the Mirror as saying: “He has this calf issue which we are still looking into and trying to find out why. Is it his back? Is it his ankle?

“It lets him stay on the pitch but it makes him struggle a little bit. We could have said ‘stay off for two or three weeks’, but we don’t have a lot of options.

“We’ve tried to work on this while he is playing. It would be nice if we have now found the exact reason and the solution. Everyone could see the difference when he’s able to play without issues.”

Can has scored three goals and provided two assists in 26 competitive appearances for the Liverpool this season.

The Reds lost against Hull City at the KC stadium on the weekend and have not actually won a Premier League game in 2017.
