Liverpool Trump Everton Bid After Making £13m Offer For World Cup Star Who Already Partners Lovren, Management Divided

Liverpool have offered £13m for Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida according to the Aksam newspaper.

The Reds have trumped Everton’s €10m and Leicester City’s €12m bid for the Croatia international.

Per the source, Liverpool are keen on bringing Vida who is Dejan Lovren’s defensive partner.

The Lovren-Vida partnership have helped Croatia reach the quarter-finals conceding just one goal when playing together.

The figures being quoted are pretty similar to what Turkish journalist Turgay Demir said a few days ago.

Speaking live on A Spor, Demir said: “Everton and Liverpool have made an offer for Vida, €15m has been proposed but Besiktas will not consider a bid below €20m.”

Turkish-Football first reported that the Toffees had expressed an interest at the start of the World Cup but have not been made aware of a Liverpool offer as things stand.

Besiktas meanwhile are divided over whether to part ways with the 29-year-old.

The Black Eagles signed Vida in January on a free transfer from Dynamo Kiev.

Head coach Senol Gunes has made it clear he wants to keep the defender on next season.

The board meanwhile are keen on selling for the right price.

Vida has seen his value skyrocket over the course of the World Cup and the board believe they can make a healthy profit.

Gunes meanwhile is of the view that Vida and Pepe have only just settled in and disrupting the defence without a suitable replacement would be a mistake.

The Istanbul based outfit still have not found a replacement for Cenk Tosun who was sold to Everton in January.
