Liverpool Want World Cup Star But Barcelona Face Offer From Super Lig Giants

Barcelona centre-back Yerry Mina headed into the 2018 World Cup on the back of a disappointing six-months at the La Liga giants.

Mina was brought in as Javier Mascherano’s replacement in January but struggled to settle in.

Mina has however, resurrected his career over the World Cup putting on impressive performances for Colombia which have not gone unnoticed.

Turkish-Football sources have revealed that Fenerbahce made a loan offer for Mina early in the tournament.

The Yellow Canaries would be keen on a permanent move for the right price but face pressure from Financial Fair Play to curb spending.

Tutto Mercato Web meanwhile report that Liverpool have joined the race for Mina.

Per the source, the Reds are the ‘biggest side’ to have expressed an interest in the powerful defender.

Additionally Sevilla, Valencia, Villarreal and Celta Vigo are also keen on a deal.

Liverpool have reportedly contacted Barcelona regarding Mina.

The report does suggest that Barca would prefer to send the centre-back out on loan to rediscover his form.

Fenerbahce would struggle to compete with the named clubs for Mina but club president Ali Koc does have close ties with the La Liga champions.

One of the companies under the Koc Holding umbrella, Beko, sponsor Barcelona and the business tycoon has close ties to the club which could help swing a transfer move in their favor.
