Emre Can put on a man of the match display against the Hammers, scoring his sides 100th goal this season and providing an assist.

The midfielder of Turkish origin made two key passes, had 109 touches on the ball, pulled of 85 percent of his 98 passes, worked hard defensively and contributed to attack.

It is difficult to believe he could be leaving at the end of the season.

Can has just a few months remaining on his contract and has yet to sign an extension.

The 24-year-old has been closely linked with a summer exit but has yet to confirm whether he will stay or leave.

Liverpool legend Steve Nicol is of the opinion that the Reds will miss him ‘when he’s gone’.

Nicol seems to be under no illusions that Can will be leaving – even if the player and the club have not confirmed his exit.

Nicol was quoted on ESPN as saying. “Liverpool will miss him when he’s gone.”

Can has scored six goals and provided five assists in all competitions this season – his best return since joining the club from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014.

Despite nearing the end of his contract Jurgen Klopp has continued to use Can as a first-choice player.
