Liverpool have ‘zero’ chance of signing Roma goalkeeper Alisson this summer according to Roma president James Pallotta.
The Reds have been closely linked with the Roma keeper this season but will probably have to wait a while long if they hope to land the Brazil international.
Alisson will face Liverpool Champions League semi-finals, with the first-leg scheduled to be played next Tuesday at Anfield.
The 25-year-old has been in impressive form in the European competition.
The Giallorossi have not conceded a goal in their last five Champions League matches against Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Qarabag, Shakhtar Donetsk and Barcelona.
“We have no intention of selling him,” Pallotta told Sky Sport Italia.
“I mean zero at all. I’m sure some people will probably come in with some bids, but I don’t have any interest in selling him, he’s a great goalkeeper.
“When we got him, I thought the same thing and as far as I’m concerned, I mean no.”
The latest development is an indication that Roma will not be selling their best players this summer – as has so often been the case at the club.
Roma sold Mohamed Salah to the Reds this summer and replaced him with Turkey international Cengiz Under.
The 20-year-old has hit the ground running scoring six times and providing two assists.
Under scored the goal that took Roma through on away goals against Shakhtar Donetsk and provided the assist that knocked Barcelona out of the quarter-finals.
The rising star is expected to face Liverpool next week after recovering from injury.
