Liverpool star Emre Can has revealed how he regained fitness in time for the Red’s 3-0 victory over Villarreal.
The 22-year-old was one of the star’s of the show yesterday evening and played a major role in his sides opening goal.
Can sustained an ankle injury during Liverpool’s 4-3 win over Borussia Dortmund and was initially ruled out for the rest of the season.
The Germany international told the Liverpool Echo that his return ahead of schedule is down to hard work.
“I put in a lot of work. I didn’t have one day off in three weeks,” Can told the Liverpool Echo.
“Every day I was at Melwood for seven or eight hours, doing everything I could to get fit for this game.”
Can was a surprise inclusion in Klopp’s starting line-up following an injury he sustained during the Red’s win over Dortmund.
The 22-year-old has three assists and two goals in 47 appearances for Liverpool this season.
