Loris Karius Returns To Training, Expected To Make Besiktas Squad Against Goztepe

Liverpool loanee Loris Karius has returned to training after recovering from a muscle injury which ruled him out of action for the past few weeks.

Turkish-Football can confirm that Karius has resumed full team training and is likely to be ruled match fit to star in goal against Goztepe at the Vodafone Park next week.

Karius missed the opening game of the season against Sivasspor on Saturday.

Utku Ya filled in for Karius but struggled in goal conceding three times in the 3-0 defeat against Sivasspor.

Karius was first-choice keeper for the Black Eagles last season and is expected to keep his role in the side this term.

Besiktas got their season off to a poor start under new manager Abdullah Avci but rivals and reigning champions Galatasaray also lost 2-0 away to Denizlispor.

As did last seasons runners-up Basaksehir who were beaten 3-0 away to Malatyaspor.

Trabzonspor who finished in fourth place were held to a 1-1 draw against Kasimpasa.
